Photography has given me a way to express and share what I find in life visually stimulating and interesting. I find that when I'm out shooting, regardless of my surroundings photography gives me that pleasant distraction from my day to day life. I take photographs for myself and to record a moment in my life. However, my hope is that someday they will strike emotion within the viewer, regardless of what emotion that might be.
I'm a rolling stone; when I'm out shooting I'm drawn to objects that stimulate me visually. I then scrutinize those objects until a particular view of that object calls out to be photographed. Preparation in my photography is minimal to none. I'm more interested in the surprise, the "what if" so I prefer to allow life to carry on, on its own instead of preparing the moment. I simply start shooting and let the various subjects tell me what theme they want to be part of.
My current body of work is a set of images taken within the US and other countries abroad. During those travels I used a 50mm fixed lens to help me construe and or translate what I have seen. I enjoy traveling, exploring, and all the challenges that surface in doing so. The challenge I bequeath on myself is that my photographs invigorate and inspire the viewer.
